MommyFest is turning 5 year’s old! Yay! I am so excited. Because it’s our 5th year of hosting this Interactive Online Event, I thought we should do something fun. What more fun than having a Blog Party! How does this work? Well here are the details - so read on …

MommyFest will be on May 12-16, 2008 and moms all over the net will be blog hopping through other participating mom blogs. We will have a list of participants in a special post in the Mommyfest 2008 blog with Mr. Linky. Moms will have an opportunity to meet, learn a bit more, share and chat with other moms in cyberspace.

What is a party without presents and treats? Well, Mommyfest is giving away fun prizes so make sure to join us for all the fun. A list of prizes will be listed in a special post in the Mommyfest blog. Prize drawing will be open to all participants of Mommyfest.

Ok, so now for the instructions …

If you want to join in on the fun this is what you need to do:

Spread the word, invite others to join in the fun

Place the Mommyfest 2008 graphic on the sidebar of your blog or website. We have a few different ones you can choose from.

Write a post on your blog or site about our Blog Party. It doesn’t have to be long or complicated - simply invite others to join the fun just as you would invite your best friend to a party. Remember to keep it family-friendly.

Kick off the party in your Blog/Site
The whole point of throwing this blog party is so that we get to meet other moms in cyberspace and make a connection. For other moms to learn more about you, you will need to post a short “Intro” about you. It’s like a “Round Robin” - every participating mom blogger gets a chance to introduce themselves and share what they are about.
You can be as creative as you want - you can make your blog post as simple or as detailed as you wish - it’s all up to you. Share what you want. You can post pictures, use audio and even video.

During the entire event, we will have a Linky available where you can add your name and Party Post Link. All you have to do is post about Mommyfest once during our celebration (May 12-16, 2008). The key here is to make sure that you leave your party post link url on our Mr. Linky so other moms can find your “Introduction” - that way they do not have to search through your blog - makes it easy for everyone.

I will add the Mr. Linky thingie on the Mommyfest Blog on May 11, 2008 so we can jump start the party. Make sure to add your link then and note that the sooner you add your link, then the chances of others visiting your blog is greater. If you are a newbie with Mr. Linky, don’t be confused. All it is - is an easy way for you to leave your link back to your blog.

Go blog hopping and start meeting other moms
Alright, so you have posted about our Blog Party on your blog. You have posted an “intro” in your blog and left your link in the Mr. Linky in the Mommyfest Site. Now, it’s time to go and blog hop - visit other blogs that you can find in the Mr. Linky thingie in the Mommyfest blog. Just start clicking on the links to learn more about other moms. Make sure to leave them a comment to let them know you found them through our MommyFest Blog Party. You may find some new blogs to follow and make new friends.
